My 4th graders attend a middle poverty level elementary school in Missouri where we have more than 35% of the students eligible for free or reduced cost lunch. Our school district has very high standards for the students that they expect the students to master by the end of fourth grade. These expectations are only getting tougher with the new national common core standards implemented.
