My students are vibrant, inquisitive young people that crave learning in an exciting, relevant manner. They are a part of a school that encourages relevant, engaging learning, but does not always have the resources that allot those opportunities. Unfortunately, they are privy to some of the disparities within our school district's funding and it inevitably causes them to view their school and even their learning experiences with negativity. However, it is my goal to dispel some of those negative feelings and perspectives by showing my students that they do matter and that there are several people "standing in the gap" to ensure that they have full access to the relevant and exciting education they truly long for. In short, I want them to see that they are worth so much more than what they hear or see about this school district in the local news.
