My students all have disabilities, primarily cognitive disabilities and autism. These disabilities make it difficult for my students to communicate their needs and desires. I have 10 students with varying abilities. We are in a school that strives to provide positive supports and a sense of community. My students participate as much as possible with their non-disabled peers; however, their inability to communicate makes this our biggest challenge. Our school is very low income with over 80% of students receiving free and reduced price lunch. We do not have much technology available for our students to use or learn with.
