It's time to move with the times! I've had the old desks and chairs for years. As my students move toward one-to-one devices, I really believe it will be beneficial to have more work space with tables and more comfortable areas to sit. With the choices in seating, I believe it will help stimulate creativity and socialization. Since we rotate classrooms, all 5th graders will benefit from new flexible seating! As content gets more and more difficult, engagement in the learning environment is extremely important! When students are given a choice of different places to work, I find that they focus better and are more engaged in their learning. The adjustable, rolling chairs provide more comfort since the seats are padded so older students can focus for longer periods of time. I have also included a few different stools for students who would rather sit on something without a back to it. The floor seating with the small table attached will be useful for students who want to sit on the floor with their devices instead of being at the larger tables. All in all, with a few different options for seating available, students will be able to take charge of their own learning and make choices that are the best for them.
