My students are 25 very loving and hard working first graders. Eighteen out of the 25 students are English language learns whose primary language at home is Spanish. The majority of the parents at home do not speak English, so many students do not get the assistance from their parents to help them read daily. Not only are they unable to provide assistance at home due to the language barriers, but majority of the families struggle financially as well. I work at one of the largest elementary schools in which over 90% of the students receive free or reduced lunch. All students deserve the resources and materials to learn. My first graders are always so eager and excited and I think this wireless reading center will make them even more eager and excited to read.
