Our class consist of 28 First Graders that are excited about being in First Grade. They are bursting with energy and their little personalities are fascinating! They enjoy Math so much! They enjoy Math because they are able to be more active, while working cooperatively. They are a High Sensory Need group of students in need of constant stimulation. With this being First Grade, they are still developing an understanding of school replacing home as their primary influence and where they spend most of their time. We are slowly gaining age appropriate responsibility, such as walking to class by themselves. My school and class are a diverse bunch. We are in area with a lower socioeconomic status, but students make up for it with the experiences they bring from their lives outside of school.
