My students are very special children who come mainly from low income families. Many of the students in my class do not even have someone at home to work with them, not that the parents do not want to, but because they do not know how! This leaves a heavy burden on me, as the teacher. I have to teach things that they should have learned at home, but I do not complain. I simply do what I have to. My students need something to keep their attention and something that they can touch, to manipulate, to learn. The majority of my students are hands-on learners, so giving them paper and pencil to work bores them and some do not grasp the concept. They are the technology babies, and without some sort of technology, it is hard to get through to them. They are bright children and will be better off when giving the materials that they need.
