We have seen an increase in the number of STEM related jobs. Students need to be exposed to science and technology throughout their schooling. By developing a Makerspace in my classroom, students will be able to engage in STEM activities on a regular basis. Through the use of the Year Round Project-Based Stem resource, I can provide lessons that stimulate critical-thinking and problem-solving. The students will be understand and create simple machines through the use of the ETI gears building set. The Keva Blocks provide a hands-on kinesthetic approach to understand geometry, spacial awareness and architecture. This will motivate and engage all students. The coding and tanagram apps for the Osmo along with the LEGOS sets will help prepare my students to use the inquiry process to learn and grow. Due to district budget constraints, purchasing these items for our Makerspace is not possible without you! We appreciate your support.
