I have a wonderful group of students. They are problem solvers and thinkers and explorers. They are excited to be 4th graders and look to every new challenge with optimism and interest. Most of my students come from low income families, where the concern is more about food and a roof over their heads than with spending money on other concerns. My school is a wonderful place that is dedicated to building a strong and supportive community. Everyone is important and is made to feel as though they belong no matter how much money they have. Our school also suffers from a lack of funds for resources, but we put our students' needs first in order to help achieve success.
