There are countless advantages and uses of a document camera in a classroom. I will be able to present content in a 21st century way. Using a document can reach more learners by piquing their interest in technology. Math skills can increase when using a document cameras as they are more interactive and I can use them to show my thinking as working out problems. Manipulatives can be used more effectively during whole group time with the use of a document camera. Document cameras also invite students to easily share their work and problem solving thought process with the rest of the students, which has proven to be a valuable tool. Reading passages can be displayed to help students prepare for End of Grade testing. Various types of text can be visually shared in a large group setting to teach fluency, comprehension, and test taking strategies. These are just a few ways a document camera can help my students achieve the goals that have been set. A camera opens up the door to more science, writing, and social studies uses.
