My students love to work together in small groups, in pairs and individually in places all around our classroom. They work at their desks but they really love to have creative areas that encourage them to work together comfortably. This allows them to focus on the task at hand and allows for some deep conversations in all areas of our curriculum. Our school strives to build productive citizens and my fourth graders really work hard but sometimes struggle to stay focused when working in groups at their desks with other groups around them.
