I am an exceptional children's teacher in a low-income area. The students at our school come from diverse families with low socioeconomic status. We have 100% of students receiving free lunch. The children in my classroom are in kindergarten through third grade. They have wide a range of disabilities such as Autism, Attention Deficit Disorder, Intellectual Disabilities, and behavioral issues. My students are passionate and energetic learners. Even though they may struggle academically and socially they never give up. They take pride in their achievements, work hard to learn new things, and are willing to learn. I hope by encouraging and motivating them it will help to build their confidence, independence, and overall academic success.
