The materials in this project will be used during our learning centers. We will practice our fine motor skills, early literacy skills and social/emotional skills and early math skills through play. These materials will make a huge difference in my students interest and engagement during our small group lessons. The number puzzles will introduce the concept of number to quantity in an easily accessible and fun task. My students are also working on sorting common objects by color, shape and size, the color sorting pegs and color maze games are a way to make a difficult task fun. I'm also including some fine motor activities to work on hand strength and coordination like Magna Tiles, tweezer games, and stringing beads. Language will also be embedded into each lesson we do (name colors, counting, labeling) as well as social skills (turn taking, waiting, sharing). We do our small group lessons every day and my kids have really learned to enjoy working through our play materials. Please help up to revive our small group time with some new supplies.
