School is a safe place for many of my students. I have students in foster care, residing in homeless shelters, hungry, and so much more. Yet, they come to school eager to learn, excited about what the day has in store and smiling from ear to ear. Nestled in the middle of a low income community an unsettling amount of my students are burdened with financial and parental destitution. Further many are not afforded proper language skills typically instilled at home. Our school has a high English Language Learner and transient population. They need experience with technology on their academic level to engage and fuel their love for learning. I hope to take this grant and use it to help advance their knowledge of the language and further their interest in the educational technology that is available today. I wish to augment my one iPad in order to further their critical thinking and problem solving skills. Our school community is one filled with love and devotion to each and every student.
