My high school is in a small town in a fairly rural area. I teach two subjects: theatre and world history. In that capacity, I interact with different kinds of students. The drama students are some of the most dedicated, kind and hardworking students I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They have taken on a lot of responsibility of running they department and the shows we put on. They are dedicated to its success in a way I have not seen before. Their excitement about performing and theatre tech is infectious and their hard work inspiring. They deserve to be able to do everything they wish to do with the best tools they can get their hands on. My history students are curious and want to know about the world. They ask lots of questions and want to understand why the world is the way that it is. They want to learn but struggle to figure out how. With support, they form opinions and reach impressive heights.
