I teach 23 precious Young Five's (Pre-K) children in a Title 1 Michigan school. A majority of the population in our building is eligible for free or reduced lunch. I am the only Young Five's teacher in my building and I use centers and thematic based learning to teach content standards. My four and five year old students love to come to school to learn. Learning in my classroom comes from play and investigation. For many of my students, this is their first experience in a school setting and I thrive to help them obtain a love of learning that will last a lifetime. "Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning."- Mr. Rogers
