My students come to school every day ready to learn. Their faces shine with smiles, the are filled with the biggest hugs, and most importantly, they are hungry to learn. Throughout the school day, even if I do not have my students, I will get asked all sorts of Social Studies questions such as how slavery began before it was in the United States, who invented items we use today, along with many other questions. Even though I see my students on a block schedule rotation, each and every day, my students beg me to come see them so they can have Social Studies. As a teacher, that sort of passion is what I like to see in my students. My students are also very creative. I pose questions such as "what would life be like if people still believed the world was flat?" The answers I got from each student was phenomenal and some never even occurred to me! If I can tap into this creativity and critical thinking skills, I know my students can and will succeed in the future.
