The Public Safety Academy consists of pathway courses in the fields of Firefighting, Law Enforcement & other public services involving Emergency Response and Disaster Preparedness. Students in grades 9-12 are able to learn the skills to make a difference and help save lives. The PSA is a character-building program that will prepare students for becoming responsible citizens & self directed leaders and community service persons. The attributes and assets academy students gain are discipline, motivation, and teamwork while having the opportunity to gain life experience. Certifications are earned in CPR & First Aid for the Professional Rescuer, and Incident Command Systems from FEMA. Student in the PSA are given the responsibility of running drills, helping their community, and performing rescue efforts during emergencies.
