Joel P Jensen is a wonderful middle school. Student population is varied with a variety of students from different backgrounds. In this diverse learning atmosphere, as a teacher I would like to incorporate several hands on activities for my students to participate in their learning. It is one thing to gain knowledge from instruction, but hands on activities allow students to visually see and do science practices. These hands on activities can help students relate to knowledge they are learning, but also address how this knowledge works in the real world. In today's techno savvy world, students have knowledge at their fingertips, what they don't have is how to apply the knowledge in the real world. These projects will enable me as their teacher, to rise to the challenge and give my students insight into real world problems by taking them out of the problem and into solutions with hands on activities.
