"To get to the store, you’ve got to SOAR" is designed to invigorate and incentivize underprivileged middle school students to be leaders by exhibiting positive behaviors throughout the day. Students will earn school specific money called 'bucks', awarded by faculty and staff, for modeling the 7 habits and making positive choices. Students will use their bucks to purchase the requested incentives. This program will provide incentives to the student body for doing well academically and socially. The goal of “To get to the store, you’ve got to SOAR” is to reward students with interesting incentives and motivate them to make wise choices in order to earn these rewards. One of the main objectives we hope to address through this grant is to establish a climate in which positive behavior is the norm. This grant will help to promote positive behavior and reduce disruptive actions along with motivating students to do well academically.
