My students are smart, hard working, and loving kids. They are good readers who love new books and push themselves to try and read more and become better at reading. Their favorite subjects are science and math. It is my job to make sure reading is at the top of their favorites as well. They love school and learning, but they are surrounded by negative distractions daily. It is a title 1 school with students who are struggling with different family distractions and constant issues. School is a safe place for many reasons. Our school is full of smart students, but they are not performing up to their potential. These daily distractions are interfering with their learning. We know they are very smart, and I am working on ways to motivate them to always do their best daily.
