Imagine a classroom with an old rug with barely enough room for 8 students to sit while the teacher reads a book. No matter how great the book is, the students sitting off the rug are squirming and minds are racing because they are uncomfortable. Class begins chaotically and its hard on both the students and the teacher to get back on track. Fast forward to after this project is funded; every student has their own spot to sit on with enough space, they are focused and learning . They all feel like part of the class. What difference a larger rug with a spot for each student makes. The teacher finishes her lesson and tells her students to wait for the signal chime before heading to centers. With the click of a button, students are dismissed to begin their work on their own. A much smoother scenario and much less stress for the teacher and students. These products would help tremendously create a learning environment that is inclusive and educationally friendly.
