My students are full of life second graders! All of my students enjoy being at school and are always looking for a challenge in the subjects they personally each excel in. I have a variety of interests between my students and the class is split with 12 boys and 10 girls. These second graders love to laugh in their reading and spend a good amount of time reading various genres. They are excited to learn science; we start with the cycle of salmon, in Alaska that is a big topic. I have found them to be very hands-on and always willing to try. We spend time expanding our math skills with manipulative's and writing. The school I am at hired me as a first year teacher, the day before school began. They provided me with a blank classroom but was extremely helpful in finding used resources. The school is supported by wonderful families that expect the most from the teachers. I am fortunate to spend my first year teaching at a supportive school with an exciting group of second grade.
