My project is designed to collect a library of social emotional instruction tools for my students. As you know, before students can open up to learning, their social emotional needs must be addressed. This has been a priorty for my special education instruction, especially during this school year. We have utilized a few books in author Diane Albers "A Little Spot of..." series with great success. The 'Spot' books provided a way for students to connect to their emotions with simple teachable strategies to support them as they learn how to cope with difficult feelings in appropriate ways. With the success of the few Spot books we were able to use this year, we hope to add the collection to our classroom library so we can continue to support students with strategies for their success.
