My students are five and six years old and need to move constantly. Sometimes students even fall out of their seats because they are moving so much! My students have highly active minds. They are quick to learn, quick to question, and sometimes frustrated because their minds are moving faster than they can communicate. This often manifests itself in poor handwriting or hopping from one topic to another. I have found it necessary to find things to keep their bodies busy so their minds can focus. Having a wiggle cushion will allow the students to move in their seats without disturbing others.
