I teach Pre K grade Autistic students who are verbal and nonverbal. They are very sweet loving students who have a desire to learn although their disabilities hinder their learning and communication skills. Their exceptionalities vary and our department is not funded for specialized technology. They are a great group of students who can benefit from an iPad and its applications. They are all learning to read and comprehend what they read. They are also learning how to communicate, which is their biggest challenge in the classroom. Our school is a general population blended with exceptional student education and communication and social skills students. Our program has enhanced the academic and personal lives of autistic children. We service a wide range of students in our school.
