Our school is a wonderful little school nestled in a low economic neighborhood. Most of our students are immigrants and parents don't speak the language. Almost all of the students in our school are on free or reduce lunch, therefore parents can not provide them with the latest electronics and supplies they may need. The students in the gifted classes are very self direct and eager students. They are usually the only person in their home who speak English. They become the translators for their parents and they are usually on their own when it comes to homework. In many occasions, they themselves become teachers to their parents.
