I work with students who come from a variety of living situations, mostly high needs, in terms of economics. Many come to school not for an education, but for a safe place and someone to truly care about them. Since these students come from an area that can be lacking in forming real world connections, it can be difficult for students to relate to what they are learning about in class. Creating an authentic audience will allow students to form more connections. As most of us know, the best way for a student to be successful in learning is through connecting new knowledge to their own previous real world experiences. Our students are craving to be inspired and are ready to show the world what they truly can contribute.

About my class
