When you work with inner city children, the little things make all the difference. The brain is motivated and enhanced by variety. Creating colorful stations, literacy activities, and learning materials really sets learning apart for these children! School should be an exciting and enticing place for children. Just having a color printer to create learning materials would make a huge difference. Our district does not allow the teachers to print in color any more. It is just too costly which is understandable. I am requesting a color printer just for my classroom. It would be a highly motivating difference in the classroom. Just think if you saw everything in only black and white, how drab this would be! It's the same way with learning materials. I want them to be visually and intrinsically motivated. This color printer would greatly enhance their learning!
