Our Special Education classroom serves students in 6th through 12th grade with a wide range of reading skills. The books currently in our classroom are almost exclusively library hand-me downs or donations from past teachers. Though these books have served us well in the past, they have not aged well. Many have missing or damaged covers and pages and some are held together by scotch tape and force of will alone. When our reading books are in such poor condition it is hard to motivate students to read them, as none of the students want to be the one who pushed the book to the breaking point.

About my class
