I have the pleasure of teaching at my former elementary school in Northern California. We are currently a title one school and have over 600 students of various economic status and cultural backgrounds. My school is currently in API which means we are required to teach a mandated 90 minute literacy block. Literacy is the foundation of all subjects so the mandated block is actually a blessing. It allows the teachers to focus on such an important subject for our students. The students at my school are tech savvy, energetic, eager to learn, and overall well disciplined and pleasant to work with.
