Our school is currently 51% Title One and we have a variety of ethnicity's and backgrounds. There are approximately 450 students in this rural school in the foothills, and quite a few of my students' parents, etc., attended this school when they were young. This results in a strong feeling of community within our school and a large percentage of parental support. Many of my students have been in the same class with each other since Kindergarten, as for a time, there was only one class per grade level. I have 25 students in my class, four of which are English Language Learners and 15 are considered, "Title One." We are not a wealthy community and without help from such agencies as Donor's Choose, these students would not be able to enjoy having such items as MP3 players, etc., in the classroom.
