My students are absolutely brilliant and vibrant and have such good energy. They are so unbelievably enthusiastic about journalism. They are always asking when is the next Twitter talk, can I write an article about this or can I go interview this person and that person. They want to be journalists and they take on the responsibilities of a real journalist. One of my students has interviewed Dave Bautista, while another one interviewed Will and Jaden Smith. My students go places and do things and through their journalistic profiles they've been accepted into Harvard, Columbia, the University of Pennsylvania, and so many other great universities. It's so exciting to be a part of that and seeing my students create an amazing newspaper and a fantastic yearbook. They manage to create such great things with limited materials. I can only imagine how much more elevated these things would be with real equipment.
