I have 32 6th graders in my classes. I teach both a Reading and Writing. All my students have specific learning disabilities. They have been placed in my class to give them the greatest opportunity to achieve their individualized academic goals. These students are a very tight knit group. They care about and are supportive of each other. We live in a small town in Northern California populated by mostly middle class, blue collar families. My school has approximately 800 students. It is a Title 1 school, which means that we serve a high percentage of low-income families. My students are of various cultural backgrounds and are all AWESOME!! I also teach 6th to 8th grade resource classes. These are classes specifically created for students who may need a little help with their class work and/or homework.
