Our diverse school is located in the East Bay. The school is a Title 1 school with a large number of students receiving free or reduced cost lunch. Many of the students are also English language learners. The school has recently transitioned to become a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) oriented program, integrating the arts into STEM curriculum as a way of engaging learners. Our science classroom focuses on meeting the NGSS standards using compelling project based learning activities. Rigorous problem solving oriented coursework and high expectations for every learner are coupled with differentiated instruction designed to enable every student to achieve.
