My school is located in a small community, which is very supportive, and where everyone works together to support the education of the students. However, most of my students come from families that have a lower income and limited education. Many have not had the chance to use basic school supplies such as scissors or glue. Many students have never been in a school setting before kindergarten or spent time away from their primary caretaker. Several students have limited English language skills. Life can be difficult for many of these students and school is a safe place for them where they can explore and learn about the world.
