Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination..." My school is growing by the day! With over 720 students we need more drums! World Music Drumming is one of their favorite musical activities. It is a unique curriculum that teaches students to play drum ensembles inspired by the music of West Africa and the Caribbean. It is also unique because it teaches them how to form a community and do what is best for the group and not the individual. So not only are they learning musical concepts, drumming, and music of theirs and other cultures, they are also developing a unique musical community within each class.
