Seating options allow students to enhance their confidence and become a more active participant in their learning environment. Currently, the only options in my classroom are the floor and chairs. During independent learning and collaborative learning times, they can use the cushions to work comfortably on the floor. I observed my students in their 3rd grade last year and saw that their teacher gave them a variety of seating options. They were motivated, comfortable and on task every time I observed them. If we receive the requested resources, my students will have additional seating options to make our learning environment more effective. The stability discs will allow my higher energy students to expel a little energy without interrupting other learners. The cushions will allow comfortable floor seating options. The DASH Robot will allow my students to begin learning coding and taking our math class to the next level! The resource will begin to prepare my students for possible futures in the STEM field. I can only imagine the level of excitement for learning that these additions will bring to my classroom!
