Our school is in a large city, in a school which has recently welcomed a number of refugees, many fleeing from war-torn countries. Additionally, we serve students from surrounding middle class homes, as well as those from nearby housing projects. We have Spanish bilingual classes at every grade level, ESL students, gifted and talented students, and special education students Over 80% of our students are economically disadvantaged and over half are considered "at risk". We are a Title I school with a total student population of 781 in grades prekindergarten to fifth.
