My school is located in a southern state in an urban school district. The majority of my students are from low-income homes, but that in no way impedes their desire to be the smartest students ever. They face a multitude of challenges and look at school as a place that will give them the opportunity to be successful in anything that they desire to accomplish. Many of my students have challenges in reading, writing, and mathematics so I try to create an exciting learning environment that gives them the opportunity to become creative thinkers and learners in a variety of ways. For some of my students, school is the only place that they will have the opportunity to explore academic practices. Many do not have the resources such as books, computers, iPads or other tools that would allow them to continue to develop their academic skills. Therefore, I strive to create an environment that will is filled with innovative resources that will help them be successful and love to learn.
