I am the Library Media Specialist to over 500 students. Each one is rambunctious, loving, eager, and excited to walk the halls each day. I enjoy seeing these current and former students at the ballpark or high school while watching them play baseball or football. Our school is located in an area that ranges from high poverty to working class. We are considered to be around 75-90 percent free lunch. I would say that the students get a wonderful education at our school because the faculty and staff care for them a great deal. Last year I introduced Makerspaces to the students at Nan Gray Davis and was thrilled to see the energy and excitement they brought to the group when they were able to think freely, and outside the box. I enjoyed giving them the opportunity to participate in activities they normally wouldn't outside school and plan to continue these activities to enhance their learning as individuals.
