I teach in a public school in an urban setting. Our students come to school wanting to be explore and learn new things. Walking around the school, education comes to life with classrooms full of students studying AP coursework, hallways decorated with fabulous artwork, and the sounds of pianos and voices streaming from the choir room. A majority of my students are freshman, and they are ready to take their understanding and development as an artist to the next level. My job is to make sure they have the materials to accomplish this. We are very focused on making sure our students are prepared to attend college. We assist them with portfolio creation and presentation. I am always amazed and proud of the art they create.
