I was recently moved into a portable classroom. Previously, I had a document camera, a projector screen, projector, etc- all the technology comforts. I gave my position in the classroom up to a new teacher so she could be involved in the 2nd grade team. However, my school does not have enough money to now buy the same technology for the portable classrooms. I have a much smaller whiteboard than my previous classroom, and basic technology so I'm having to waste time writing questions out on the board and erase them quickly before the next subject. With my document camera, I can have my text dependent question prepared and project them when needed, freeing my board for other things. Also, my student are having a hard time following directions so being able to watch me step-by-step under the document camera will be extremely helpful. It's also wonderful to showcase student work. My school is a few steps away from a Title 1 school, but we're not there yet so we have very limited funds.
