These high interest magazines will give reluctant readers great fiction and nonfiction articles to peak their interest. The articles in the magazine are current and meaningful to 8th grade students.Being able to read from a current magazine is much less daunting to some students, than reading from a large outdated textbook.These magazines will hopefully reach the many reluctant readers that I see in my classroom. Scope magazines also provide the students with various writing activities that are tied to the articles.These magazines can be used in whole group, small group, or individual instruction as needed in any of my classes.
