My students need five iPads to enhance learning in the classroom through math stations, early finisher activities, review games, and technology based projects. The iPads will also help to increase differentiation in the classroom daily. I just finished my first year of teaching 8th grade Math. One of the biggest struggles this year was the lack of technology available for use in the school. My students are growing up in an era of technology, but when they come to school it is almost impossible to use because of the high demand and the number of teachers/students in the building. Cell phone use is not allowed, and my five classroom computers do not go far with 30 students per class. Obtaining five iPads for my classroom will not only increase the amount of students on technology at any given time, but it will help increase student engagement as well. I hope to use these iPads to make Math stations more interesting, keep early finishers involved in mathematics through different apps, allow the chance for students to work in teams to play review games such as Jeopardy and Kahoot, and offer other options for math related projects such as movies, songs, and other technology based programs. My main goal is to get students excited about math and hopefully I can do that through your help with this project!
