I have a group of higher ability, lower income students in a small school. We have 28 students in our fourth grade classroom. My students love technology. Our school is an intermediate level school with grades 3-6. My students each have use of iPads and we use them daily use programs such as Scootpad, Sumdog, IXL, and Achieve 3000. This month we are entered into a reading contest through Achieve 3000. I have a group a very competitive students. We read nonfiction articles and answer questions, and get points for correctly answered questions while competing with other classrooms in our school. The students learn so much from these programs and have fun at the same time. Students are able to advance into higher level skills, play learning games, complete assignments. Each week we have a leaderboard winner for each program. Students who have the most points in each program are recognized on our wall.
