Hello! I teach art at a wonderful, small charter school in the South Side of San Jose called Leadership Public Schools. Most of our students are first in their family to attend college, and some are even first in their family to graduate from high school. All of our students come from high poverty, and almost all of our students are on free and reduced lunch. Despite this, my students are hardworking, display grit, have a positive mindset, and are still planning for their bright future. Our district does not have much funding, and our parents cannot help with funding. Many of my kids love art, and often stay in at lunch or after-school drawing or painting. I am so pleased to offer AP Art next year, but need help with covering the supply costs. Any little bit can help, even five or ten dollars! Gratefully, Sandy Mahler
