With the creation of this classroom library, my students will be provided with books of varying reading levels and which will appeal to different interests. These books will drastically improve my students’ exposure to academic vocabulary and different cultures in the Spanish speaking world, far beyond the scope of a limited textbook! Independent, individual choice in reading will be the focus of this project! Students will read the books they choose and will form small book groups for conversation and will prepare short commercials to interest others in the book they just read. So, this project will serve the students individually and as a reading community in the Spanish for Native Speakers classroom.
