Dinuba High is in a small rural area of Central California in a primarily agricultural community. Many of our students are second language learners, and most are trying to be the first in their family to earn a college degree. The robotics course that I teach is a new course in the Engineering Academy - this will be the second year that it has been taught. We use some curriculum and robots from the C-STEM program out of UC Davis, but this year we want to add more capabilities and options for coding (programming) including senors, lights, buzzers and more. Our coding is primarily done in a C/C++ IDE, which lends itself to adding Arduino and Raspberry Pi to our current curriculum.
