This year 7th graders are able to take their first Project Lead the Way (PLTW) course: Design & Modeling. Students focus on learning the cooperative design process, create effective prototypes for various contests/projects and immerse themselves in Autodesk Inventor Software (AutoCAD 3D design). This core group of students is a diverse mixture of middle schoolers that have very little background in the engineering field and have a lack of engineering mentors in their community. PLTW aims to include and promote all students, with an emphasis on under-served minority students and female students. Our school: 97% free & reduced lunch, 57% English Language Learners, 96% minority students.
